Mostly As: Your cuddle hormone, oxytocin, sounds like it’s right where it should be. Tune in to your senses and keep engaging in loving touch with your loved ones to help maintain this great feeling.
Mostly Bs: You could benefit from a little more oxytocin in your life. How do you get this? Give and receive hugs! Cuddle skin to skin with your partner! Have sex! Your body will respond in wonderful ways to this loving touch.
Mostly Cs: Your oxytocin level is way too low. People thrive when they’re being touched regularly and lovingly – it’s a physical need that you’re not getting enough of. If you’re having trouble getting the touch you need from a partner, don’t underestimate the wonderful benefits of hugging a friend or cuddling a pet. You need some serious loving touch in your life – it’s medically necessary for your health and well-being.
Symptoms of low oxytocin may include:
- Feelings of social isolation
- Resistance to intimacy
- Decreased sex drive
- Difficulty achieving orgasm
- Anxiety and/or depression
Oxytocin is known as the “cuddle hormone.” When it is released in your body, it helps you open up to your lover, your children, your friends, and the world around you. With higher oxytocin levels, you feel more bonded, open, loving, and engaged with life. You’ll be amazed at the boost in love, intimacy and happiness you’ll experience with increased oxytocin.Use these three simple tips to fire up your oxytocin for a happier, more loving life:
Touch: Oxytocin is released in your body in response to loving touch. When you and someone you love touch, hug, give each other a massage, or even lie skin to skin, your body releases oxytocin naturally. Cuddling with a pet can do the same!
Have more sex: Sex and especially orgasm releases a surge of oxytocin. Even if you’re not feeling it, give it a try and watch how your body responds. You may surprise yourself! Nipple stimulation is also a simple, sexy way to release more oxytocin.
Engage your senses: Visit a garden with fragrant flowers in bloom, eat a divine meal, go to the symphony. When you open yourself up to your senses, you flood your body with oxytocin.
