Well, maybe not quite as much fun, but….almost!!!
I am touring New York City chatting about my new book! I feel as though I need to pinch myself – these moments are like dreams come true!! I can hardly believe that I am fortunate enough to give a strong voice to my practice, teaching women and their partners that sexual health and general well-being doesn’t end with the years of their youth. I wrote The Sex Drive Solution for Women in hope of empowering women, like me, who have struggled with their sex drive, searched for answers, but come up empty handed.
As a gynecologist, I didn’t feel like I was given enough tools to help women who had lost their libido – like most gynecologists, I was trained to tell patients that low libido is simply a fact of life, an unfortunate symptom of aging and well, they would just have to learn to live with it. I knew I could not live like that and I did not want my patients to live like that either – I wanted more for my patients and myself. Through further training in preventive medicine and hormone therapies, I found answers to my questions and solutions, not just treatments, for my patients. The Sex Drive Solution for Women was another step in my dream of sharing these solutions with every woman – reaching beyond the four walls of my practice. Unexpectedly and quite fortunately, I am reaching an even a broader audience as I share my insights and chat, in detail, about the book to the media.
Last week, I had a blast with Rachel K. and Andy on The Daily Buzz! You can look forward to learning more about the little things that affect your sex life, like your smartphone or lack of physical activity. Also, you can get the inside scoop on why sex is actually quite good for your health and how to improve novelty, naturally, when your relationship and your sex life needs a pick-me-up. It’s all about sex and you are definitely going to want to know about it! You can also look for details on these segments, coming soon, on HeadDrama.com and Bodychecklist.com.
In addition to the TV spots, I taped radio segments with Lisa Davis on her radio show: It’s Your Health, heard on NPR (National Public Radio.) Lisa is fantastic! She and I are both in our mid-forties and experiencing those hormonal issues that her callers and my patients often complain about – we had lots to chat about on and off the air. I highly recommend her show, she is so on target, offering insight from diverse experts and sharing vital information essential for lifelong health – go Lisa! I can’t wait to chat with her again!
This week, I am loving life in NYC! I am originally from New York, so I got in a little family time to start off the trip and met up with my brother for an incredible dinner. I could not dally for too long as the media has continued calling. Yesterday, I fulfilled the invitation to speak to the great Dr. Miriam Greene of the NYU Doctor’s Radio show, which aired live on SiriusXM. We chatted on-air for an hour about helping women with vaginal dryness, lack of desire and other sexual problems. Dr. Miriam is an absolute blast! I felt right at home with her blunt NYC style – she even called one of the callers, a bitch – because she has such amazing orgasms! What a riot! Best of all, we took calls for the last half hour. I loved being able to speak directly with women around the country, making contact with women who really need our help.
The day capped off, picture perfect –quite literally – when I witnessed the life-size image of my book displayed on a screen in Times Square (check out the pic!!) The moment was surreal, not to mention, I happen to be staying in Times Square. I never imagined that would be the view from my hotel window!
Today, I taped a segment for Fox News Online in their studios at Rockefeller Center. This was also a stellar experience. (I will update you on those details in a future post!)
As my NYC trip draws to a close, I have to express my gratitude to some of the people in my life who really made this all possible – my patients. Each of you have bravely shared your experiences and lived up to every challenge seeking to better your health and your life. Without you, I would not have found the inspiration and the passion to share this message. Every day that I see patients in the office – I love it – each of you kindly tell me about the difference I have made in your lives. I often feel like I have not done enough though -because I cannot possibly see every patient that needs help. The Sex Drive Solution for Women has opened doors of opportunity and given me a far-reaching platform to talk about women’s sexual health, hormones and the pursuit of preventive health. I can finally reach more people that are suffering, and that is why I went to medical school – to heal suffering. Thank you for being my inspiration and believing in me – I am truly living my dream and for that I am grateful to each and every patient.
